For students who cheat routinely at examinations

This piece is about students who routinely cheat at examinations. Takes me back memory lane to when we were in the university. Surely you must have come across such students during your school days as well. They never bother to study for examinations. Always relying on how much cash their Daddy had to bribe lecturers or buy answer scripts or questions in advance or pay outsiders to take exams for them etc.

Mr. Peter Obi has so far honoured every single opportunity to engage with Nigerians and sell his ideas. From the NBA conference to the LCCI summit, from NEF platform to various TV interviews, From NESG to Arise citizens town hall. From the Guild of Editors forum to CAN. From ICAN to even the candidate platform by Kadiria where he was advised not to go, because of the affiliation of the host to a rather hostile political figure, he still went and gave a good account of himself.

He has not hidden behind spokesmen and paid agents. He has engaged with the Nigeria public directly and sold his ideas convincingly. We have heard from him directly, truthfully and sincerely. We have seen his physical fitness and mental alertness. We have had the opportunity to weigh his understanding of issues and sincerity of purpose. We have scrutinised him thoroughly and found him capable.

Obi is like a student who is preparing for an exam. He is reading, going to the library, attending tutorials and not missing lectures. However, some unfortunate loafers and never do wells are saying that such a student cannot pass. To them, it is that student(s) who is planning to cheat, bribe lecturers or disrupt the examination that will pass.

The 2023 election will be a watershed in our electoral history and journey. It is an election where we will decide if competence, character and capacity really and truly matters in this country when it comes to political leadership. This election will either sow hope or reinforce despair.

As it stands today, Obi remains the best amongst the lot. He is heads and shoulders above all the other candidates in terms of communication of ideas, interaction with the citizens, personal integrity, character and probity. I have no doubt that I can stand before God and defend this choice.

May Nigeria succeed!
